The scarf can be made using almost any yarn. The finished size will depend on the thickness of the yarn, the size of the needles and the number of stitches cast on.
(eg a ColourMart 2/28, J&S 1 ply Supreme or Cobweb) about 60 g
pair 3 mm needles
(eg a ColourMart 2/14, J&S 2 ply Supreme or 2 ply lace weight) about 70 g
pair 4 mm needles
(eg a ColourMart 3/14, J&S 2 ply jumper weight) about 100 g
pair 5 mm needles
about 200 g DK weight yarn. Mine has nine modules and uses 3 x 100 g balls Frangipani yarn.
pair 5 mm needles
about 300 y yarn
pair 6 mm needles
About 8 ins wide and 60" long, or as long as you like! As a rule of thumb, a scarf should be about the height of its intended recipient. Instruction also included for adapting for a child's scarf.
